Well this has been a long time coming, I couldn't be more excited and more in awe of the blessing it really is to be a mother. Last time we got pregnant in 3 days, 3 DAYS! So when we started trying for #2 I figured within 6 months would be no problem.
Now, life got messy and stressful, we moved to Dallas for the Hubbs job... so I though surely after we were settled, then, we would get pregnant.
Every month that passed I would beg God to take the desire of another child away from me, to teach me to be content with one, to fully enjoy her now. I was a full blown mess. The total rollercoaster of trying to understand, justify, let go, desire again was a lot to go through all while in another state from my friends and family. Honestly, moving away from friends and family made me want "more family" aka another kiddo, even more. Each passing month I felt like I was mourning the loss of that dream.
I turned to Progessense plus pretty early on, as one of it's main ingredients is progesterone naturally derived from yams. While this oil is meant for beauty and cleansing for women over 30, the ingredients are incredible. That helped get my body on track, I used this nightly for about 6 months.
Then I read How to Conceive naturally: and have a healthy pregnancy after 30 by Christa Orecchio (a nutritionist I've followed for years, she used to do 1 on 1 coaching for fertility, I personally know of a girlfriend that struggled for 5 years then followed Christa's advice and boom, pregnant.
The thing that stood out the most in her book were the supplements, and the studies. I'm not a pill kinda gal... it's not my favorite. I remember reading about multivitamins never breaking down and just lining intestines #nothanks. So following her advice I ordered from Young Living (even though she recommended other product that are probably wonderful too). I know I can trust Young Living products and their supplement absorption rate is *CRAZY GOOD. What did I have to lose?
Super C, did you know vitamin c naturally helps your body create progesterone? I didn't!
Super B multivitamin (with folate not folic acid... trust me you want folate = natural, folic is chemically derived and our bodies don't produce enough enzymes to break it down and absorb what we need).
OmegaGize, Omega + vitamin D and E
I also added Multigreens (because the other eye opening thing about her book was how unhealthy my healthy eating was. Dang it.
And Life9, a great probiotic. She argued that taking a probiotic while pregnant may help your babies gut health and cut down on the chances of a colic/acid refulx babes. Nora had reflux, it was torture...so if taking a probiotic might help I am all in.
After one month of taking the supplements we found out we were expecting. ONE MONTH! We're talking almost a year in of trying. Que all the happy tears and disbelief. I literally didn't believe that it was real until I saw the little heartbeat at the ultrasound. Honestly, I still have days I don't fully believe it's true. A year of hopes crushed will do that to ya.
Now, I'm not saying Young Living supplements will get you pregnant. But goodness knows I tried so many other things, other brand supplements, smoothies, you name it, nada. I am forever grateful for this company, I thank God I decided to get over my skepticism of oils and give them a try a year ago, I'm totally obsessed with those too.
16 WEEK BUMPDATE
How far along: 16 weeks! Holy cow in a month we're half way there! (ha! I said this last time too!)
Total weight gain: Up 2 lbs. Same as last time, but I look more preggers this time.
Maternity clothes: YES, my amazing girlfriend mailed me a huge box of clothes, I've added a few pairs of jeans, but otherwise I am set. #blessher
Stretch Marks: Nope. Using the MamaMio Belly Oil this round again, worked last time. I'm adding 1 drop of Frankincense and 1 drop of Gentle Baby because they are known to be great oils for skin and stretching skin. At the rate I'm growing this time, I'll take all the help I can get.
Sleep: Meh, I feel like pregnancy is a slow nudge into the lack of sleep you'll get as a baby. I just keep realizing throughout the night that I'm not dreaming, I'm having lucid thoughts. Dang it, I'm awake again.
Best moments of this week: Nora has started saying, "Excuse me, wait... I have a question." It's totally a stalling tactic... but it's cracking us up.
Miss anything: Sleeping on my belly. I was still able to do this last pregnancy... but little dude moves so much when I roll on my belly it's like he's kicking and saying, "HEY LADY! DO YOU MIND?"
Movement: Not a ton, but FINALLY yes.
Food cravings: Sweets for sure.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No thank goodness.
Have you started to show yet: umm totally... BUT I started taking probiotics (like, not whenever, now I'm taking them every night... and my "baby belly" almost cut in half. Whoops, that wasn't all belly. #tmi?
Gender: Boy! I can't even wrap my head around having a little boy. But I am so excited to transition Nora's room to a big girl room, and make my little dudes Gentlemen's study (think cigar lounge or old estate library vibes) vision come to life.
Labor signs: No, thankfully.
Belly button in or out: half way, it's like flush... so.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: So dang moody! I really have to keep myself in check, so darn snappy...
Looking forward to: Seeing little dude again early Feb. The ultrasounds have been the only moments I've fully realized and accepted that I'm actually pregnant. I think trying/waiting so long still has me in disbelief that it's real.

*The benefits of Young Living's whole food-sourced multivitamins far surpass those offered by synthetic supplements. Young Living supplements are formulated with the highest quality ingredients and infused with therapeutic-grade essential oils. This is important because studies have shown that average supplements have a 42% blood absorption rate within 24 hours before the supplements are passed through the body. Having supplements that are infused with essential oils increase the blood absorption rate to 64% within 30 minutes and 86% within 1 hour! This means that your cells are able to receive nutrients that they were previously unable to assimilate.
