I have a confession. I "Keep Up With The Kardashians", I have for years. Lately I've found this mindless entertainment isn't as entertaining anymore. Now it makes me sad. Sad that we've made these people famous for being famous (or for dirty sex tapes of former assistants to Paris Hilton) Sad that I even know that. Sad that the mantras of their lives seem to be "more stuff" "what's in it for me" and "looking out for number one".
I CAN'T EVEN
And I don't even like that saying.
Last week my husband said, "why do we still watch this?"... This week I said, "Let's stop." Done and done. That family is a walking contradiction to everything I hope for in life. Now Fixer Upper (Chip and Joanna Gaines) is GOLD I tell ya. I love the way they portray their marriage. I love the clean humor and loving banter, I love the fact that they sell Hymnal Cards as decoration, that they don't need to preach their values, it radiates.
If you're going to watch TV instead of volunteering to save the world, planet, or someones soul...that's good TV right there. Not to mention I LOVE the home makeovers. One of my favorite episodes was The Tire Swing House, look at these gorgeous touches. GET IN MY HOUSE!
If you haven't seen her testimony yet (it's all over the interwebs) It had me in tears... it just spoke to the season on life I'm in. Happy Happy tears.
